Assassin's Creed Quotes Ezio
During his journey, he faced a lot of difficulties, won several battles, and lost many friends. Ezio grew to become a person who comprehends the significance of love, sacrifice, life, and death. He is charming, clever, funny, charismatic, and scary. Each word coming out of the mouth of Ezio is a lesson to be learned. In this article, we are going to share and understand some of the best quotes spoken by Ezio, the greatest assassin of all time.

1. "No books… no wisdom…Just you, fratello mio. Requiescat in pace, Altaïr."

Assassin's Creed Quotes Ezio
Assassin's Creed Quotes Ezio

This sad quote spoken by Ezio in Assassin's Creed: Revelations signifies the importance of Altaïr in Ezio's life. It is a symbol of reflection and remembrance. Altaïr was the protagonist of the first game and also a mentor and inspiration to Ezio. Everything Ezio has learned about the legacy of the creed was taught in one way or the other by Altaïr. Ezio finds Altaïr dead protecting the Apple of Eden and understands the larger theme of the brotherhood. Ezio acknowledges the debt that he owes to Altaïr's wisdom and guidance.

Ezio realizes that despite the historical records, books, and political forces which shape the future of the world, the shared ideology of the brotherhood is what binds the creed together. These are passed on to the newer generations as we see in the case of Ezio. At the end of AC Revelations Ezio, who is deeply committed to the cause understands that it is important to value the people and relationships which give meaning to life. In the real world also, which is filled with danger and uncertainty people should understand the importance of relationships. It gives them the strength and power to overcome any problem.

2. "I have seen enough for one life."

Assassin's Creed Quotes Ezio

The famous quote spoken by Ezio is from the game Assassin's Creed Revelations. It is spoken just a few minutes after the Ezio quote - No books, No wisdom, just you fratello mio. Ezio finds the Apple of Eden hidden in the Library of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad. He exclaims as he finds the artifact. Throughout his journey, he has seen the best and the worst of humanity. He has seen people's greed for power and money. Several battles, deaths, and all the blood spilled just for power. Ezio is now an old man who is forged by battle and mentored by Altaïr. He fought for what he truly believed in despite all those trials and tribulations.

This quote is a powerful statement of contentment and acceptance. Looking back in time Ezio realizes that he has seen the best and the worst and now he is an old man who is tired. He is humble enough that he admits that which is for some people it is very very destructing.

Acceptance in any scenario comes with age and experience. Ezio has lived a good long life. He has learned many ideas of wisdom. The idea explained here is the acceptance of his mortality and the belief that one has accomplished what he set out to do. It encourages us to live our life to the fullest and to be satisfied with our achievements when our time comes.

P.S.- It has also become a meme template that is widely shared on social media platforms.

3. "I have lived my life as best I could, not knowing its purpose, but drawn forward like a moth to a distant moon. And here, at last, I discover a strange truth. That I am only a conduit for a message that eludes my understanding. Who are we, who have been so blessed to share our stories like this? To speak across centuries? Maybe you will answer all the questions I have asked. Maybe you will be the one to make all this suffering worth something in the end."

Isn't it poetic?? Anyway..!! Ezio breaks the 4th wall and communicates with Desmond.

He speaks about his understanding of the meaning and purpose of his life. He admits that the philosophical ideology of his goal is beyond his reasoning. He is just pursuing the goal without knowing and understanding what it is or why he has been set on the path to pursue it. It's a clear reflection of the modern world where most people don't know the true meaning of their goal.

But in the end, Ezio does have a sense of realization. Ezio understands that his legacy is greater than himself. The message he is sending to future generations is of utmost importance. He doesn't know whether his story will be heard or not. But he understands that all of us are a part of something greater than ourselves and life is a journey of discovery and growth, and he hopes that someday someone will answer all the questions he has. Ezio emphasizes that in the end, he is happy that he has lived a good life and it takes time to fully grasp the purpose of life which is beyond generations in his case. He speaks about the privilege of being able to share his story across centuries and connect with people in a way that transcends time.

4. "When I was a young man, I had liberty, but I did not see it. I had time, but I did not know it. And I had love, but I did not feel it. Many decades would pass before I understood the meaning of all three. And now, in the twilight of my life, this understanding has passed into contentment. Love, liberty, and time: once so disposable, are the fuels that drive me forward. And love, most especially, mio caro. For you, our children, our brothers, and sisters, and for the vast and wonderful world that gave us life, and keeps us guessing. Endless affection, Mia Sofia. Forever yours, Ezio Auditore.”

Ezio is old now. If you're a little bit active on social media, you might have seen Mike's video. He clearly states how his awards are garbage now. It is very clearly stated that priorities change with time. Similar to Mike, Ezio Auditore speaks about his realization. Love, Liberty, and time are the most important things in life. When he had all three, he failed to appreciate their significance in his life. But at the same time, wisdom and realization come with age when we don't have much time. As he is old, he now fully understands the importance of these precious gifts in his life and how it shaped his life.

Love is the most important gift in the world. To love someone and to be loved by someone is a great feeling. It is a fuel for life. It drives us and motivates us to conquer the world. The love for one's family, friends, children, and partner is what gives purpose to life. Liberty too allows us to be free and act as one chooses. Of all the things which are important time is the cost of everything. I don't know if you get it or not. Take the example of Ezio, in the end of Embers, he is old, weak, and has lost a lot of time. He knows that he will die soon one way or the other, He can't be with his children and love. He wants to cherish the happy moments but the cost of these moments is time, which he doesn't have. Time is a precious commodity that one must not waste. "Time is money" is a 100% true statement. But at the same time, Time is happiness also.

It is important for all of us to appreciate the things that truly matter in life, such as love, liberty, and time. We should strive to live our lives to the fullest with endless affection for those around us, and be grateful for the blessings that life has bestowed upon us.

5. "Where other men blindly follow the truth, remember...Nothing is true, where other men are limited, by morality or law, remember...Everything is permitted."

"To say that nothing is true is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say that everything is permitted is to understand that we are the architects of our actions and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic.”

Although this doesn't need any explanation as Ezio explained it way better than anyone could ever explain it. But still, this quote is a statement about the importance of questioning authority. It suggests that truth is often subjective and we must be critical thinkers in order to create a just society.

Ezio inspires us to take an active role in our lives. He asks us to challenge the way things are and work accordingly to bring a change for a better life. It demonstrates the brotherhood's ideology that every person has the ability to control their own destiny. The quote exhorts us to accept accountability for our deeds and seek to improve the world for both present and future generations.

6. "It is a good life we lead, brother. - The best. - May it never change. -And may it never change us".

Assassin's Creed Quotes Ezio
Assassin's Creed Quotes Ezio

The sad quote is from the start of Assassin's Creed II. Two brothers are racing their way up to the rooftops of Florence. Ezio and his older brother Federico are enjoying their freedom and the beauty of life. Both of them realize that they are happy with each other. They understand the importance of a good life. But at the same time, they also realize that things will change and their behavior will change too. It's just a matter of time. The bond between them can easily be felt. The quote captures a sense of youthful optimism.

It can be understood from these lines, how the story of the game will proceed. In the real world, people may go through a similar process but it is important to keep hope alive. Deep down in his mind, Ezio knows that the future is uncertain but he is keeping hope that his life will be good. It reminds us to never take anything for granted as we don't know what treasures time has kept for us in the future.

7. "The Auditore are not dead! I'm still here! Me! Ezio! Ezio Auditore!"

Assassin's Creed Quotes Ezio

After Uberto Alberti's assassination, Ezio strongly announces who he is and how he intends to uphold the Auditore family's tradition in the face of several challenges and risks. He makes the decision to transform his wrath and grief into a fiery desire to stand up for what is right rather than to submit or be mum.

It really captures the essence of Ezio's personality in many ways: passionate, motivated, and fiercely devoted to the people he loves. It serves as a reminder that even in the face of hardship, we can find meaning and strength in our ties to the past and in our resolve to stand up for what is right.

8. "Vengeance clouded my mind. It would have consumed me, were it not for the wisdom of a few strangers, who taught me to look past my instincts. They never preached answers but guided me to learn from myself. We don't need anyone to tell us what to do; not Savonarola, not the Medici. We are free to follow our own path. There are those who will take that freedom from us, and too many of you gladly give it. But it is our ability to choose – whatever you think is true – that makes us human... There is no book or teacher to give you the answers, to show you the path. Choose your own way! Do not follow me, or anyone else".

The statement shows Ezio's development throughout the Assassin's Creed games. Initially, Ezio wanted to take revenge on those who had massacred his family. But as he matured and gained experience, he realized that taking revenge on his own wouldn't be the best course of action. He conveys his knowledge by saying that we should consider the results of our acts in addition to our initial intuition.

Ezio acknowledges that some individuals want to restrict our freedom of choice, and many of us are willing to give it up without a fight. But since our ability to make choices is what makes us humans, it is up to us to choose our own pathways.  He encourages people to make their own decisions and not blindly follow anyone, not even himself.

Ezio asks us to understand that we are in charge of our actions, whether their outcome is good or bad. Do not follow anyone blindly. Question everything, think critically, and reason carefully because there are external forces in society that frequently try to manipulate and control us.

9. Leandros: Why will you not surrender? Ezio: "I never learned how".

Assassin's Creed Quotes Ezio

It is notable because it shows Ezio's firm determination and solidity in the midst of impossible conditions. Since Ezio has always been a warrior and does not know how to give up or back down from a challenge, it is also implied by his statement that he does not see surrender as a viable option.

The phrase can act as a motivational tool in the real world to keep pursuing our ambitions no matter how challenging they may seem. It is important to always strive to learn and grow so that we will always be ready to face any challenges that come our way. Like Ezio, we should never surrender, but instead, continue to fight for what we believe in and pursue our passions with unwavering determination.

10. "Fight with me and show him what it means to cross the Assassins".

Assassin's Creed Quotes Ezio

The Templars kill Yusuf, a friend of Ezio, and take Sofia prisoner. Then Ezio says these words. Ezio reminds the assassins that their struggle is for a larger purpose. They must be ready to do whatever it takes to accomplish their objectives. We all know that Borgias are the bad guy, and it is clear that Ezio is not advocating retaliation in this instance.

This quote is also important because it represents the strength and unity of the Assassins. Ezio understands that he cannot defeat Borgia alone and that he needs the help of his brothers and sisters to achieve victory. Additionally, it demonstrates the Assassins' commitment to their purpose despite grave peril and hardship. It might be taken as a powerful declaration of solidarity and bravery against injustice in the real world.

11. "I do not remember making that decision. This life, it chose me."
Assassin's Creed Quotes Ezio
Assassin's Creed Quotes Ezio

Ezio spoke these words in Assassin's Creed Revelations, during a conversation with his Sofia. He was reflecting on his experiences and the steps he had taken to become an assassin. It emphasizes the notion that sometimes we pick our destiny rather than the other way around.

Ezio didn't intend to become an assassin, but his life's events compelled him to sign on to the role. He had to carry on his family's tradition and carry on their fight against the Templars after they were betrayed and slaughtered. Ezio accepted his fate and committed his life to the cause of the Assassins despite the difficulties and risks he had to endure.

The saying explains that, even if we can't always change our circumstances, we can choose how to react on them. Even though Ezio didn't choose to become an assassin, he decided to accept that life and utilize it to stand up for his beliefs. It conveys a message of fortitude, bravery, and the influence of decisions.

12. "We work in the dark to serve the light. We are Assassins." - Ezio recites the creed of the Assassins, which is a recurring theme throughout the series.

This quote is spoken by various Assassins throughout the Assassin's Creed series which highlights the core philosophy of the Assassins.  We all know that the Assassins act in secret to safeguard and uphold the ideals of equality, justice, and freedom.

The "light" represents the greater good, the preservation of society, and the pursuit of peace. The "dark" symbolizes the methods they use to achieve these goals, which often involve covert operations, assassination, and manipulation.

The Assassins' strong dedication for their mission and their readiness to go to any lengths to save the world are embodied in this quote. It also explains that Assassins are driven by a higher mission rather than the desire for fame or power.

The quote asks us to speak up for what is right even if it means working in the background and putting our own comfort or safety at risk. It serves as a reminder that true heroism frequently goes unnoticed and some of the biggest conflicts are conducted in the shadows.

13. "Requiescat in pace" (Rest in peace)

The statement, that Ezio uses regularly to deliver the killing blow to an enemy, is considered to be one of his most well-known catchphrases. It is used as a token of respect for the dead. It doesn't matter if the person was bad or good, in the end, we all know that showing respect to the dead can provide closure.

14. "I thought... I thought I was beyond this. But I'm not. I've waited too long... lost too much".

Assassin's Creed Quotes Ezio

We all can sense the pain in these words. Ezio is reflecting on his past actions and the consequences they brought. He is realizing that even though he thought he had moved on from his desire for vengeance, it was still driving him. He may have lost his loved ones, but the love-fueled his need for revenge against Rodrigo.

15."I knew I would not have enough time to do everything. Now I worry I do not have enough time to do anything."

Assassin's Creed Quotes Ezio
Assassin's Creed Quotes Ezio

This quote from AC Embers shares Ezio's understanding that he has realized that he has lost time. He knew that there are few things that are meant to be incomplete but now he understands that he has no time left for the things which make him happy. It's a very bad feeling that you understand that it is over now and you cannot do anything. You just wait for the end helplessly sitting with your eyes closed.

Conclusion

Ezio Auditore is a fictional character who inspired millions of people around the world.  The quotes in this article remind us of the importance of respecting the dead, learning from history, recognizing our limitations, being critical thinkers, and standing up for justice. May we all strive to embody these qualities and continue to learn from Ezio's journey. Keep Playing.
