1971 Indian Naval Front: Introduction

1971 Indian Naval Front is a third-person naval war combat game based on the true events of the 1971 Indo-Pak War. As the game is inspired by historical events, gamers can experience all the naval operations and missions done by the Indian Naval forces during the war. The game has aircraft carriers, choppers, and warships such as INS Vikrant, INS Rajput, INS Brahmaputra, INS Veer, etc.

The gameplay is based on real events of the 1971 Indo-Pak War. The levels of the game are designed based on the operations done by Indian Naval Forces. Each operation has various levels that the players need to perform. The mission objectives of the game are very detailed and it gives you a very real experience of the battlefield. Since the release of early footage, teasers, and leaks of the gameplay, the game has significantly improved on various factors such as visuals and gameplay mechanics. The visual difference between the game's demo version and the launched version of the game is huge. The graphics of the game in its max settings can easily run on 4k with 60fps which gives you a very detailed and realistic experience of the war. The mechanics of the game is also very good, for example, you literally see the sky changing shades as you fly an aircraft and perform a rotation.

1971 Indian Naval Front: Controls of the game

The controls of the game are very simple and easy to use. You can easily launch a take-off by pressing the space key on your keyboard and can maneuver the aircraft by pressing the keys W, A, S, and D. You can also use your mouse to control your aircraft. The game does not provide you controller support which means you can't play with your controller ( I wish they could have made it but it's not a problem). For those who are new to using a mouse as a controller of an aircraft, it will be difficult in the beginning as a slight movement of the mouse can change your movement direction. It is a very memorable moment for any Indian Gamer as there aren't any pc game (at least I am not aware) that gives an opportunity to fly an Indian Aircraft and that too from the Indo-Pak war.

1971 Indian Naval Front: Weapon and Combat System of the Game

The aircraft in the 1971 Indian Naval Front can be installed with two weapons, the primary and the secondary. The primary weapon of an aircraft is mainly a gun (a really big one) and the secondary weapon of the aircraft depends on the mission. The secondary weapons consist of unguided missiles and torpedoes (for naval ships). The aircraft has all the basic features such as the radar, and altimeter, to understand your location and the enemy's location in the game. While attacking an enemy base it is recommended to shoot them in first person perspective as it becomes easier to attack as compared to third-person gameplay. You can also confirm the damage by clicking the right mouse button and have a 360° view of the game. As mentioned above the controls of the chopper are a bit sensitive which means a little movement can change your direction. So practice that one for sure.

The controls of the warships in the game are very simple and easy. The weaponry controls are also simple. You can easily fire torpedos and bullets from the warships after locking in the targets. The missions are designed to be completed in daylight and also in the night. You can experience the story of the destruction of PNS Ghazi in the game. A movie is also made about the events of the mission. The location of the submarine Ghazi is not easily traced in the night and it requires your attention to find it. At times the missions create a lot of tension and heat while playing.

1971 Indian Naval Front: Cutscenes, missions, and music of the game

The cutscenes of the game are very well made. They explain the situation very effectively. The dialogue and the music enhances the story impact of the game. There are also a variety of missions in the game. Also, each game requires different aircraft, choppers, and warships. The location of most of the missions is also different which means there is newness in the game. These wide varieties of missions, aircraft, choppers, warships, and locations keep you engaged for a long time without making your gameplay boring.

The music of the game is appealing and good. It's not that there aren't any better musical backgrounds in war games. It's just that the music is apt for the game. The background score is similar to most of the war games, the ups, downs and motivational touch increases your gameplay experience and you feel that you're really on the battlefield.

Any room for improvement and final thoughts?

The game is good for beginners but the game lacks in a few areas. The controls of the game while shooting down the enemies is really hard at later stages (or it's just that I am a noob). The feel of flying can not be fully experienced as the number of clouds and airflow can not be experienced as much. The game also does not have controller support. As the game is new, there are things that the developers may add in the future. I would love to see skins on warships and aircraft.

1971 Indian Naval Front: Conclusion

Overall the game is good and it gives you a good experience. Also as an Indian, the game is highly recommended for gamers who play war games. Sometimes the story is very important behind any good game. And as the game is based on the true events of the war, there is an emotional connection. For all the gamers who are interested in a war game, just play this once. It will not disappoint you. Keep playing.
